"I wander'd lonely..........with the daffodils.” (Page 24)
भावार्थ– प्रस्तुत कविता अंग्रेज कवि विलियम वर्ड्सवर्थ द्वारा रचित है।
जिनकी अधिकांश कविताएँ प्रकृति के इर्द-गिर्द घूमती हैं। प्रस्तुत कविता
डैफोडिल्स में भी प्रकृति का सुन्दर वर्णन है।
प्रस्तुत कविता में कवि अपने को अकेला बादल की तरह कल्पना करता
है जो घाटियों और पहाड़ियों के ऊपर भटक रहा है-निरूद्देश्य । तभी उसकी
नजर कई सारे सुन्दर पीले नरगिस के फूलों पर पड़ती है
वे ढर सारे नरगिस के फूल झील के पास, पेड़ों के नीचे उगे हुए थे।
जो बहती हवाओं के साथ झूम रहे थे, फड़पड़ा रहे थे, मानो नृत्य कर रहे हों।
कवि आगे कहता है कि पेड़ों के आस-पास एक लम्बी दूरी पर वे
नरगिस के फूल दूर-दूर तक फैले थे। सुन्दर नजारा प्रस्तुत कर रहे थे। मानो
आकाश-गंगा में असंख्य तारे टिमटिमा रहे हों। कवि को प्रतीत हुआ कि
उनकी संख्या दस हजार के आस-पास होगी।
उन फूलों के पीछे झील की लहरें भी मानों नृत्य कर रही हों । वे झील
की लहरें भी मानों उन फूलों के सौन्दर्य से मस्त हो उठी थीं, खुश हो गयी
थीं और कवि को तो लगा कि उसे अपार दौलत मिल गई हों। ऐसे
सुन्दर-सुहावने दृश्य को छोड़ एक कवि-मन को और क्या चाहिए।
कविता की आखिरी पंक्तियों में कवि अपने सोफे पर उदास लेटा हुआ
है। ध्यान मग्न मुद्रा में। उसकी सोच अतीत में देखे गये उस सुनहरे दृश्य
को याद कर रही है। नरगिस के उन फूलों की सुन्दरता को याद कर उसके
उदास मन को राहत मिलती है और उसकी उदासी खत्म हो जाती है, जब
वह अपनी कल्पना में अपने मन को उन पीले नरगिस के फूलों के संग झूमता
हुआ, नृत्य करता हुआ पाता है, महसूस करता है।

Ans. The daffodils have been compared to the stars as
they stretch continuosly without a break like the stars.

when he sees the host of golden daffodils?
Ans. The poet's loneliness was replaced by joy when he
saw the daffodils dancing.
Q.5. What happens to the poet when he is sometime in a
pensive mood ?
Ans. When the poet is sometimes in a pensive mood he
moves suddenly into the future back from the lake and the
windy day. First he sets the science he often sits on his couch,
kind of feeling plan about life with no great thoughts and
sights. Sometimes his mind is empty and vacant and thinks
kind of sad thoughts.
