भावार्थ―प्रस्तुत कविता सुब्रमणिया भारती द्वारा रचित है। इस कविता
मे कवि ने अपने देश प्रेम को प्रकट किया है।
कवि कहता है–शक्तिशाली हिमालय पर्वत हमारा है। इसके जोड़ का
दूसरा पर्वत धरती पर और कहीं नहीं है। दानी, उदार गंगा नदी भी हमारी
है। और कौन नदी है जो इसकी पवित्रता का मुकाबला कर सकती है ?
पवित्र उपनिषद भी हमारे ही हैं। उनके जोड़ की और कौन किताबें होंगी?
यह सुनहरी भूमि हमारी है। यह अनूठी है, अद्वितीय है, हम इसकी प्रशंसा
करते थकते नहीं।

हमारा देश बहादुर सैनिकों का देश है। कई साधु महात्मा हुए जिन्होंने
हमारे देश को पवित्रता प्रदान की। दिव्य संगीत की उत्पत्ति भी यहाँ हुई।
यहाँ हर प्रकार के जीवन के अनुकूल और पवित्र चीजें पायी जाती हैं जो शुभ
और मंगलदायक होती है। ब्रह्म-ज्ञान की यह भूमि है जहाँ बुद्ध ने अपना ज्ञान
बिखेरा, धार्मिक प्रवचन दिया। तो ऐसा प्राचीन देश है हमारा, अनूठा,
प्रशंसनीय।

कोई भय हमें अधिक दिनों तक डरा नहीं सकता और गरीबी हमारी
आत्मा को झुलसा नहीं सकती। हम भारतवासी उदार हैं. स्वार्थी नहीं जो नीच
कर्म करें, और हम कायर लोगों को या कायर परिस्थितियों को अधिक दिनों
तक बर्दाश्त नहीं कर सकते। हमारी धरती पर दूध और सहद की धारा बहती
है यानी इनकी यहाँ कोई कमी नहीं है और हमारी धरती हमें लगातार,
अनवरत प्रदान करती है–अनाज और फल । हमारा देश प्रसिद्ध आर्यन् भूमि
है, जो अनूठी है, अद्वितीय है, आओ इसकी प्रशंसा करें।'

जलाना, झुलसाना । Perennial (पेरेनियल) = कभी न खत्म होने वाला,
