बाल कविता लेखक केन नेस्वीट (Kenn Nesbitt) द्वारा रचित है। इस प्रस्तुत
कविता में कवि ने मशीनों और विज्ञान की हमारे दैनिक जीवन में भविष्य में
बढ़ती उपयोगिता को विषय बनाया है।
सभी बच्चे और विद्यार्थी सावधान हो जाएँ। आप सभी को जब स्कूल
में ज्यादा होमवर्क मिल जाए तो परेशान न हों। या फिर, जब घर में ज्यादा
काम हो जाए तो भी आपको परेशान होने की अब ज्यादा जरूरत नहीं है।
यदि आपका बेडरूम ज्यादा गन्दा हो गया है तो भी परेशान होने की
जरूरत नहीं है। अब आपका अद्भुत होमवर्क और हाउसवर्क (गृहकार्य)
करने वाली मशीन यानी 'रोबोट' आ गया है। चाहे दस पन्नों में स्कूल के लिए
कोई रिपोर्ट लिखना हो यह लिख देगा। आज के खिलौनों को भी स्थान पर
समुचित रख देगा।

यथास्थान रख देगी। भूगोल के कठिन सवालों का जवाब दे देगी। आपके दांतों
को भी साफ कर देगी और आपकी परीक्षा की तैयारी भी कर देगी।

यह मशीन अद्भुत है मुझे यकीन है आप भी सहमत होंगे। जब आप टी.
वी. देख रहे होंगे। आपके भोजन के बाद खाने की मिठाई या मीठी सामग्री
भी बना देगी। सिर्फ एक काम यह मशीन नहीं कर सकती यह आपकी तरह
बंदागोभी या कुछ भी और खाने का सामान नहीं खा सकती।

Marvellous (मारवेलस) = अनोखा, अद्भुत, आश्चर्य। Gadget
(गजट) = यंत्र, यांत्रिक उपकरण। Gizmo (गीजमो) = यंत्र। Dessert
(डिजर्ट) = मिठाई | Sprouts (स्पराउट) = अंकुरित चीजें। Reports
(रिपोर्ट) = विवरण। Lids (लिड्स) = पलकें । Messes (मेसेस) = संदेश।
Brussel (बुशेल्स) = बंदगोभी (बन्धाकोबी)।
