परीक्षा, परीक्षा, मेरे गर्दन में दर्द है, मैंने अपने सारे नाखून दाँतों से
कुतर लिए हैं, मैं परेशान टूटा पोत हूँ ! मेरे मेज पर किताबें का ढेर ऊँचा
टॉवर बन गया है, मेरे शरीर से बदबू आती है, और मैं उट-पुटांग लगता
हूँ, दवाब बन रहा है कि क्या मैं फेल हो जाऊँगा।

मैं वर्ग में कदम रखता हूँ, हवा के खड़खड़ाने पर भी डर लगता है,
मैं तत्काल अपने माता-पिता से उम्मीद करता हूँ कि वे मेरी जान बक्श
देंगे, मेरे चमड़े पीले पड़ रहे हैं, मेरे बाल गिर रहे हैं। बिना परीक्षा के
जीवन ? ऐसा जीवन कितना विरल है!
